WiFi Module Disconnect Causing Loss of Data

If you experience a loss of data at the end of the flight it may be caused by the WiFi module trying to keep connected to your phone from the LiDAR unit as it flies away. This error causes the LiDAR to time out and stop writing new data.

This is being worked on and will be fixed in an upcoming update to the firmware, but for the time being the best practice is to disconnect the phone from the LiDAR WiFi PRIOR to flying. Then once you land after the mission simply reconnect to the WiFi of the LiDAR unit and you can turn off the collection and shut down the unit.

Prior to takeoff steps: Start the R2A
Upon landing: Calibrate the R2A

We will keep you updated via this post when the fix is deployed.

Happy flying!
