Knowing the R2A isn’t meant for handheld use, but we tried it anyway, in order to get the underside of a concrete bridge…for a full 360 3D data cloud. Facade mount worked super for vertical coverage, BTW.
Like Matt D. told me, he had to literally run to create the calibration figure 8 and straight line at end. I was laughing outloud running in the median of the highway, thinking the ROCK family would get a chuckle out of seeing me do this.
Result- we got ‘some’ usable data but lots of ghosting data. not enough good data to merge into the upper/side data clouds to get full 360 view.
Just gotta hold our breath for the ROCK genius’ to release SLAM.
