Gap lines in pointcloud

I have a couple example datasets that seem to have strange artifacts in the pointcloud that I cannot figure out. It seems like it might be a sensor issue, but would like to know if anyone else has seen this in their pointclouds.

There are regularly spaced gaps in the pointcloud that run parallel in a linear direction through both of my entire data sets. The attached image shows 2 different datasets collected on different days and in different places. Both show these data gaps running in the same East-West direction…

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
