Hello community,
My name is Eli Tice. I am a currently a UAS Major at Middle Tennessee State University. This summer I interned with a LiDAR surveying company in Nashville, which is now a part time gig. A week into the internship, the company pilot crashed the M600 with TV635 onboard. So it was our task to do some equipment research, being that they weren’t too happy with GeoCue and wanted to update the aircraft. We ended up finding Indiana Drones on YouTube and this led us to Rock Robotics. We went down the rabbit hole of comparing LiDAR units, which was an interesting ride. We recommended the R2A and M300, which was met with initial push back as it was “too cheap.” So we continued our search and still felt like the R2A was the way to go. We finally got approval and finalized the purchase of our brand new R2A and M300. We’re excited to get flying and capturing data. Ill be sure to stay updated on here as much as I can. This community has answered a lot of our questions without even asking, so thank you and Ill provide my insight as projects get rolling.
